What is a Farm or Forest?
It is a plot of land, no matter the size or shape, with its agricultural buildings on which crops, livestock, and or trees grown for the production and further consumption of food, fiber, and or lumber products which is also for the livelihood of the landowner and their working environment. In 2017, it is estimated by the scientific ag community that an average farmer feeds 163 people!! Let’s not forget about water either as it is on most farms and forests, and our drinking water either comes to us off farms and forests by way of municipalities and or private wells and springs and is the first thing in keeping us alive- other than air. Water and food comes from the land—one field and or one farm at a time to be used today and forever.
